Sofia Dugic started to play violin at the age of five. In 2003. she  completed her musical studies at “Vocal and Instrumental High School, Mokranjac”, Belgrade, Serbia. In 2008. she graduated at “University of Arts Music Academy”, Novi Sad, under professor Irine Jašvili, student of David Oistrakh.

Between 2003. and 2008.  she had been perfecting her musical mastery as well as solfeggio, music theory and public performance with prof. Irine JashvilMarkovic, Dejan Mladjenovic, Dejan Mihajlovic, Jelena Abramovic, Vladimir Bobic, Maja Kacanski, participating in many Masterclasses.

Since her tender age, she has been known as the youngest member of few national chamber orchestras, winning many national and international music competitions with remarkable success. In 2001. she was guest member of the Military Orchestra, Belgrade and since 2003. member of the ” Razumovsky Quartet ‘’ with one hundred appearances at home and abroad. During the university she has eagerly partaken in the study of pedagogy and methodology of education. Composing musical pieces and songs is her passion. Performing a violin to envelop the audience with the beauty of form, harmony and expression of emotion is her utmost ardor. In 2009. she composed music for a documentary movie “Return of Karl Marx” a production of Film Noir and directed by Jason Barker.

In 2010. she is moving to Dubai, UAE and starting her professional teaching career. She has considerable experience in teaching different ages and skill levels from beginners to advanced. Particularly adept at teaching children and young students, coaching students towards taking examinations and performing live on stage. Uses an effective variety of specialist teaching techniques to make lessons fun and enjoyable as much as possible. She is prioritizing a deliberate and thorough approach in studying and practice, but also open for those students who are limited in practice time and just want to enjoy the music with the teacher. Helps students to understand music theory as a basis to their learning as well as solfeggio. Also, experienced in preparation of ABRSM and Trinity exams.

Sofija is fluent Serbian, English, Bosnian, Croatian, German and Russian (basic)

Make ups are available in case of min 24 hours notice. If we cancel a session for any reason, we will make-up the session on a time and day that works for you.
